On behalf of the Rural Municipality of Gimli, I would like to welcome you to our community.
Farming, commercial fishing, tourism and industries have made the Gimli area home to over 6000 residents, with the population growing to over 10,000 between May and September at the peak of the tourism season.
The Diageo Plant, home of Crown Royal and Faroex, a fibreglass manufacturing plant are just 2 industries that employ people and have a huge economic benefit to the area. With our fully serviced business park, we are open for business and can meet of all your needs.
Because of our many dedicated volunteers we are home to the Gimli Film Festival, the Icelandic Festival of Manitoba, the Gimli Ice Festival, the Gimli Car Show, the Cadet Camp, the Mercedes Benz Driving School and a thriving Gimli Chamber of Commerce, which boast many businesses in our down town area.
Come visit the Gimli Art Club, New Iceland Heritage Museum, and the famous Gimli Glider Exhibit.
We welcome you for a visit or to purchase a home, start a business or just relax along the beautiful beaches of Lake Winnipeg.
Mayor Lynn Greenberg
